And convey unto them the story of Abraham 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said, "We worship idols and will continue to cling to them." 71 (Abraham) asked: "Do they hear when you call them? 72 or can they benefit or harm you?" 73 They said, “In fact we found our forefathers doing likewise.” 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 “Except he who presented himself before Allah, with a sound* heart.” (Intact or unblemished.) 89 And the garden shall be brought near for those who guard (against evil), 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 There they will quarrel with one another and the erring ones will say (to their deities): 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 "'Nor a single friend to feel (for us). 101 Were there for us a return, we would be of the believers. 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
