And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 and indeed, We chose them knowingly above all other people, 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 Bring back our fathers, if ye speak the truth! 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 A Day whereon a friend shall not avail a friend at all, nor shall they be helped. 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
