The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
