The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
