It is He who sends down rain from the sky; from it is drink and from it is foliage in which you pasture [animals]. 10 and thereby He brings forth for you crops, and olives, and palms, and vines, and all manner of fruit. Surely in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 And He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws, so that they be of use] to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who use their reason! 12 On the earth He has fashioned for you objects of various hues: there is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed. 13 It is He who subjected to you the sea, so that you may eat its fresh seafood and bring forth from it ornaments to wear. You see the ships cleaving through it. All this, so that you may seek His bounty and feel grateful. 14 And He has affixed into the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you, and rivers and roads, that you may guide yourselves. 15 And also landmarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 So, could one who creates be like one who cannot? Will you not then contemplate? 17 Even if you wanted to count up all of God's blessings, you would not be able to. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful. 18 And God knows what you keep secret and what you publish. 19 And those they call upon, apart from God, created nothing, and themselves are created, 20 They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected. 21
