A multitude of those (on the Right Hand) will be from the first generation (who embraced Islam). 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 And those on the Left Hand Who will be those on the Left Hand? 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 Neither cool nor beneficial. 44 Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty. 45 and they persisted obstinately in awful sin, 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 and perhaps, too, our forebears of old?" 48 Say: 'Those of ancient times and those of later times 49 shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. 50 "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 "And drink Boiling Water on top of it: 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 We have created you, so why do you not believe? 57 Have you seen that which you emit? 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 It was We who decreed death among you. We will not be surpassed 60 That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Do you yourselves sow it, or are We the Sowers? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 Nay, but we are deprived! 67 Tell Me! The water that you drink. 68 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder? 69 If We had so pleased, We could have made it bitter. So why would you not give thanks? 70 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; 71 Produce ye the tree thereof, or are We the Producer? 72 We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts. 73 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 74
