Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
