The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 And by the Day promised, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 When they were sitting near it 6 And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh, and of [the tribe of] Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
