It is He Who sent down water from the sky – you drink from it, and from it are trees you use as pasture. 10 [and] by virtue thereof He causes crops to grow for you, and olive trees, and date palms, and grapes, and all [other] kinds of fruit: in this, behold, there is a message indeed for people who think! 11 He has subjected for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon and the stars have also been made subservient by His command. Surely there are Signs in this for those who use their reason. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 And He it is Who hath constrained the sea to be of service that ye eat fresh meat from thence, and bring forth from thence ornaments which ye wear. And thou seest the ships ploughing it that ye (mankind) may seek of His bounty and that haply ye may give thanks. 14 And He has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it shift with you, and [made] rivers and roads, that you may be guided, 15 and He has set up other landmarks. By these and by the stars people set their course. 16 Is then He, Who creates as one who creates not? Will you not then remember? 17 If you tried to count God's blessings, you would never be able to number them. God is ever forgiving and most merciful. 18 God knows all that you conceal or reveal. 19 And those they call upon, apart from God, created nothing, and themselves are created, 20 They are dead, not living; nor do they know when they will be raised to life. 21
