And this (Qur'an) is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 Which the True Spirit hath brought down 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 This is how We have made (the habit of) denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 so that it will come upon them suddenly, while they are unaware, 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The devils did not bring it down. 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
