The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ HA MIM. 1 The sending down of the Book is from God, the All-mighty, the All-wise. 2 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them ONLY for a genuine purpose and an appointed time. The unbelievers ignore that of which they have been warned. 3 Say: 'Have you seen those whom you call upon, other than Allah? Show me what they have created from the earth! Or, do they have a partnership in the heavens? Bring me a Book before this or some other remnant of knowledge, if what you say is true' 4 And who is in greater error than he who calls besides Allah upon those that will not answer him till the day of resurrection and they are heedless of their call? 5 such as, when all mankind is gathered [for judgment,] will be enemies unto those [who worshipped them,] and will utterly reject their worship? 6 And when Our manifest revelations are rehearsed unto them those who disbelieve say of the truth when it hath come to them: this is magic manifest. 7 They say, "(Muhammad) has invented it (Quran) by himself." Say, "Had I invented it, you would not have been able to rescue me from God. He knows best what you say about it. He is our witness and He is All-forgiving and All-merciful". 8 Say, “I am not something new* among the Noble Messengers, nor do I know (on my own) what will happen to me** or with you; I only follow that which is divinely revealed to me, and I am purely a Herald of clear warning. (* I am like the earlier ones. ** My knowledge comes due to divine revelations.) 9 Say, “What is your opinion – if the Qur’an is from Allah and you have rejected faith in it, and a witness among the Descendants of Israel has already testified upon this and accepted faith, while you became arrogant? Indeed Allah does not guide the unjust.” 10
