The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 That is the Book, wherein is no doubt, a guidance to the godfearing 2 Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.]. 3 And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. 4 they are the people who are rightly following their Lord and it is they who shall be successful. 5 As for the Disbelievers, Whether thou warn them or thou warn them not it is all one for them; they believe not. 6 Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and ears; their sight is dimmed and for them is a great punishment. 7
