Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
