And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And, his progeny, them We made the survivors (i.e. Shem, Ham and Japheth). 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 “What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?” 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars (to deceive them), 88 Then said: Lo! I feel sick! 89 So they departed from him turning their backs. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then came the others to him hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!” 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus, do We reward the righteous ones. 110 for he was truly one of our believing servants. 111 And we gave him tidings of the birth of Isaac, a prophet of the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
