Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 as for Aad, they were destroyed by a howling, violent wind 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Lo! when the waters rose, We carried you upon the ship 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 and the heavens will be rent asunder, 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Surely I knew that I should have to meet my reckoning. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 Nor did he encourage the feeding of the poor. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 that none but sinners eat' 37
