Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when Hell-fire shall be kindled to fierce ablaze. 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 And the breath of morning 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
