Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 And when the stars become dispersed, 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 having put thee together in whatever form He willed [thee to have]? 8 Nay! But ye do reject Right and Judgment! 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 Illustrious scribes 11 They know (and understand) all that ye do. 12 The pious will surely be in heaven, 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 to burn therein. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
