Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 And he had recited it to them, and they had not believed (it would have been different). 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe in it until they suffer the painful torment. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: "Can we be respited?" 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, 208 for a reminder, and We never harmed. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put your trust in the Mighty One, the Merciful, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I declare unto you upon whom the satans descend! 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 [Most of them are of this kind] save those who have attained to faith, and do righteous deeds, and remember God unceasingly, and defend themselves [only] after having been wronged, and [trust in God's promise that] those who are bent on wrongdoing will in time come to know how evil a turn their destinies are bound to take! 227
Almighty God's Truth.
