Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 Indeed it is transcribed in the Original Book with Us; sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the earlier peoples! 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 And who sends down rain from the sky in measured amounts, and We revive thereby a dead land - thus will you be brought forth - 11 He who created pairs of everything, and fashioned for you boats and beasts on which you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they attribute to some of His servants a share with Him (in his godhead)! truly is man a blasphemous ingrate avowed! 15
