Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
