The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
