The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Was there a period of time when man was not even worthy of a mention? 1 Indeed We have created man from mixed semen; in order to test him – We therefore made him hearing, knowing. 2 Verily We! We shewed him the way; then he becometh either thankful or ingrate. 3 Verily We! We have gotten ready for the infidels chains and collars and a Blaze. 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 A Fountain where the Devotees of Allah do drink, making it flow in unstinted abundance. 6 They (are those who) fulfill (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil will be wide-spreading. 7 those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive, 8 saying, "We feed you for the sake of God alone, we seek neither recompense nor thanks from you. 9 behold, we stand in awe of our Sustainer's judgment on a distressful, fateful Day!" 10 So Allah shall guard them against the woe of that Day, and will procure them freshness and joy, 11 And hath awarded them for all that they endured, a Garden and silk attire; 12 Reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. 13 And its shade will cover them, and its fruit clusters brought down low for them. 14 Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass 15 Also there will be crystal clear goblets of silver containing the exact measure of drink which they desire. 16 And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. 17 A spring there, called Salsabil. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. 20 Upon them shall be garments of fine green silk and of brocades. And adorned they shall be with bracelets of silver: and their Lord shall give them drink a beverage pure. 21 This is your reward. Your endeavour is fully acknowledged. 22
