Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: Lo! they are my guests. Affront me not! 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 By your life! they were blindly wandering on in their intoxication. 72 Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise. 73 And We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down and rained down on them stones of baked clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Verily in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
