۞ And when a description of the son of Marium is given, lo! your people raise a clamor thereat. 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites. 59 And if We willed, We could have established angels on the earth instead of you. 60 AND, BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a means to know [that] the Last Hour [is bound to come]; hence, have no doubt whatever about it, but follow Me: this [alone] is a straight way. 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 And when Jesus came with the clear signs he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you some of that whereon you are at variance; so fear you God and obey you me. 63 “Allah is indeed my Lord, and yours – therefore worship Him; this is the Straight Path.” 64 Yet the parties differed among themselves. So woe to those who did evil among the punishment of a Painful Day. 65 Are they waiting for the Hour of Doom when the torment will suddenly strike them and they will not even realize from where it came? 66 Friends on that day shall be foes to one another, but the god-fearing. 67
