The hypocrites and those whose hearts were perverted said, "These people [the believers] must be deluded by their religion." But he who places his trust in God [knows that], God is Almighty and Wise. 49 If thou couldst see, when the angels take the souls of the Unbelievers (at death), (How) they smite their faces and their backs, (saying): "Taste the penalty of the blazing Fire- 50 that, for what your hands have forwarded, and for that God is never unjust unto His servants.' 51 [To them shall happen] the like of what happened to Pharaoh's people and those who lived before them; they denied the truth of God's messages and so God took them to task for their sins. Verily, God is powerful, severe in retribution! 52 This, because God would never change the blessings with which He has graced a people unless they change their inner selves: and [know] that God is all-hearing, all-seeing. 53 Like the people of the Pharaoh and those who lived before them, (the unbelievers) rejected the revelations of God. We destroyed them for their sins and drowned the people of Pharaoh. They were all unjust. 54 For the worst of beasts in the sight of Allah are those who reject Him: They will not believe. 55 Those with whom you make an agreement, then they break their agreement every time and they do not guard (against punishment). 56 So, if thou comest upon them anywhere in the war, deal with them in such wise as to scatter the ones behind them; haply they will remember. 57 If you are afraid of the treachery of some of your allies, you may disregard your treaty with them. God does not love the treacherous ones. 58
