Hizb 46
< random >
And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 Then a fish swallowed him, and he was blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 We sent him to a hundred thousand or more people. 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 Now, ask them, has your Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 Woe to you! How terrible is your Judgment. 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 For, verily, neither ye nor those ye worship- 161 Can tempt anyone to rebel against Him. 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 we are the rangers, 165 "And we are verily those who declare (Allah's) glory!" 166 They used to say: 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 But when it came to them, they rejected it. They shall soon come to know (the end of such an attitude). 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 and see them; soon they shall see! 175 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 176 When it descends upon their courtyards, evil will be the morning of those forewarned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
