[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 so that they may understand me. 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 and let him share my task, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 God said, "You have been granted your request, Moses." 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 "Behold! thy sister goeth forth and saith, 'shall I show you one who will nurse and rear the (child)?' So We brought thee back to thy mother, that her eye might be cooled and she should not grieve. Then thou didst slay a man, but We saved thee from trouble, and We tried thee in various ways. Then didst thou tarry a number of years with the people of Midian. Then didst thou come hither as ordained, O Moses! 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 Both of you go to him (Pharaoh) and say: "We are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel depart with us, and do not punish them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; peace be on him who follows guidance! 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 Musa said: the knowledge thereof is with my Lord in the Book; my Lord erreth not, nor He forgetteth. 52 It is God who has made the earth as a cradle for you with roads for you to travel. He has sent water from the sky to produce various pairs of plants. 53 So eat yourself and pasture your cattle. Surely there are many Signs in this for people of understanding. 54
