Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a large group from the latter. 40 As for the People on the Left: how miserable will be the People on the Left! 41 They will be in the midst of scorching wind and boiling water, 42 And in the shadow of a burning smoke. 43 Neither cool nor pleasant. 44 Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury, 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 48 Say: "Indeed, the earlier and the later generations 49 shall be gathered together to the appointed time on a known Day' 50 Then verily ye, O ye erring, denying people. 51 you shall eat (the fruit) of the Tree of Zakkum. 52 And will fill your bellies therewith; 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 You shall drink it as the thirsty camels drink." 55 This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgment. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators? 59 It is We who have ordained death for all of you; and We cannot be prevented 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises? 62 Have you considered the soil you till? 63 Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the causers of growth? 64 If We will We can make it like dry trampled hay, so you would keep crying out. 65 Surely we are burdened with debt: 66 Rather, we have been prevented' 67 Have you considered the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? 69 We could make it brackish, if We pleased; so why do you not acknowledge thanks? 70 See ye the Fire which ye kindle? 71 Is it you that originated its tree, or are We the Originator? 72 We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
