The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 125 So fear God and listen to me. 126 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 127 Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves, 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 And when ye seize, ye seize like unto tyrants. 130 Rather keep your duty to Allah, and obey me. 131 “Fear Him Who has aided you with the things you know.” 132 He has given you flocks and sons, 133 "And gardens and springs. 134 Verily I fear for you the torment of a Mighty Day. 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 This is just a habit of antiquated people. 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 140
