The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 Created man, 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
