The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is folded up, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So verily I call to witness the planets - that recede, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
