The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]. 1 Yet, when they see a sign they [who deny the truth] turn their backs and say, "The same old sorcery!" 2 for they are bent on giving it the lie, being always wont to follow their own desires. Yet everything reveals its truth in the end. 3 Messages deterring them from evil had come to them, 4 The pinnacle of wisdom – so how will the Heralds of warning provide any benefit? 5 Wherefore withdrew thou from them. The Day whereon the summoner will summon mankind unto a thing unpleasant. 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ The people of Nuh (Noah) denied (their Messenger) before them, they rejected Our slave, and said: "A madman!" and he was insolently rebuked and threatened. 9 Then he supplicated to his Lord, (saying): 'I am overcome, help me' 10 Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water 11 We caused the earth to burst forth with springs so that the waters could come together for a predestined purpose. 12 And We bore Noah on the vessel built of planks and nails, 13 running before Our eyes-a recompense for him denied. 14 And We have left this as a Sign (for all time): then is there any that will receive admonition? 15 But how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning? 16 Easy have We made the Qur'an to understand: So is there any one who will be warned? 17 Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! 18 We sent a tumultuous wind against them on a day of unremitting misfortune, 19 Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted. 20 How terrible was Our torment and the result of (their disregard) of Our warning. 21 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
