Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 when the tombs are overthrown, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What has deceived you about your generous Lord 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No indeed; but you cry lies to the Doom; 9 Verify there are for you guardians, 10 noble, writers 11 who know of all that you do. 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 But the wicked, indeed they shall be in the Fiery Furnace, 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 nor shall they ever be absent from it. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
