The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 And We rained on them a rain (of torment). And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
