And assurelly We have propounded it variously in this Qur'an that they might be admonished, but it increaseth them only in aversion. 41 Say, "If there were [other] deities along with Him, as they claim, then they would surely have tried to find a way to the Lord of the Throne. 42 Glory be to Him and exalted be He in high exaltation above what they say. 43 The seven heavens extol His limitless glory, and the earth, and all that they contain; and there is not a single thing but extols His limitless glory and praise: but you [O men] fail to grasp the manner of their glorifying Him! Verily, He is forbearing, much-forgiving! 44 And when you (Muhammad SAW) recite the Quran, We put between you and those who believe not in the Hereafter, an invisible veil (or screen their hearts, so they hear or understand it not). 45 We put veils over their hearts to prevent them from comprehending it, and We afflict their ears with deafness. When you mention your one and only Lord in your recitation of the Quran, they turn their backs in aversion. 46 We are fully aware of what they wish to hear when they listen to you; and what they say when they converse in private; and when the wrongdoers say, "You are only following a man who is bewitched!" 47 See what similitudes they coin for thee, and thus are all astray, and cannot find a road! 48 They say: "When we are turned to bones and particles (of dust), shall we truly be raised up as a new creation?" 49 Say: Be ye stones or iron 50 ۞ Or [any] creation of that which is great within your breasts." And they will say, "Who will restore us?" Say, "He who brought you forth the first time." Then they will nod their heads toward you and say, "When is that?" Say, "Perhaps it will be soon - 51 "On the day when He will call you, and you will answer with His praises and imagine you did not tarry but a while." 52
