Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say, 'He is a poet for whom we await Fate's uncertainty'? 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say: He has forged it. Nay! they do not believe. 33 So let them bring a single discourse like it, if they are truthful. 34 Or were they created out of nothing? Or are they the creators? 35 Created they the heavens and the earth! Aye! they will not be convinced. 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or, is the Unseen in their keeping, so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Glory be to Allah from what they set up (with Him). 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 Then leave them, till they encounter their day wherein they shall be thunderstruck, 45 A day on which their scheming will not benefit them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And be thou patient under the judgment of thy Lord; surely thou art before Our eyes. And proclaim the praise of thy Lord when thou arisest, 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
