In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the awesome tidings [of resurrection] 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 so that We might bring forth thereby grain, and herbs, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 It will be a place of return 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 But all things We have enumerated in writing. 29 [And so We shall say:] "Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil doings,] for now We shall bestow on you nothing but more and more suffering!" 30
