The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 When Shu'eyb said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 177 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 178 So fear God and follow me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Fill up the measure, and be not cheaters, 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They replied: 'You are surely one of those bewitched. 185 Thou art but a mortal like us, and lo! we deem thee of the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said, “My Lord is Well Aware of what you do.” 188 But they called him a liar, so the punishment of the day of covering overtook them; surely it was the punishment of a grievous day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
