The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount; 1 and a Book inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 by the Visited House, 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 And the sea kept filled, 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 No one can avert it. 8 On the day when the heavens will swiftly fly 9 And the mountains move away with (awful) movement, 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness,- 17 rejoicing in that their Lord has given them; and their Lord shall guard them against the chastisement of Hell. 18 “Eat and drink with pleasure, a reward for what you used to do.” 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 They will say: "Behold, aforetime - when we were [still living] in the midst of our kith and kin - we were full of fear [at the thought of God's displeasure]: 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
