The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and a few from later times. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,- 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And plantains laden with fruit. 29 and shade extended, 30 and waters gushing, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
