S (Saad)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism. 2 How many did We destroy before them of the generations, then they cried while the time of escaping had passed away. 3 And they marvel that a warner from among themselves hath come unto them, and the disbelievers say: This is a wizard, a charlatan. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 And their leading chiefs said: "Remain attached to your gods. There is surely some motive behind it. 6 We have not heard of this in the latest religion. This is not but a fabrication. 7 "Has the Reminder been sent down to him (alone) from among us?" Nay! but they are in doubt about My Reminder (this Quran)! Nay, but they have not tasted (My) Torment! 8 Or is it that they have the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Mighty, the great Giver? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 This is just one of the disgraced armies, that will be routed there and then. 11 The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 not one, that cried not lies to the Messengers, so My retribution was just. 14
