Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
