Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 When the Oceans are suffered to burst forth; 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 No! But you deny the Recompense. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 noble, recording, 11 who know all that you do: 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 to burn therein. 16 How can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
