Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 thinking that his property will make him live forever. 3 Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 Which rises above the hearts. 7 it closes in on them from every side 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
