We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, all for nothing. Only those who deny imagine so. So for the unbelievers there is woe from the fire. 27 Shall We make those who believe and do good deeds equal to those who spread turmoil in the earth? Or shall We equate the pious with the disobedient? 28 (This is) a Book (the Quran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember. 29 And to Dawud (David) We gave Sulaiman (Solomon). How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 30 When in the evening were presented to him the standing steeds, 31 he said, "My love of horses for the cause of God has made me continue watching them until sunset, thus making me miss my prayer". 32 Bring them back to me' And he hacked their legs and necks (slaughtering them for Allah). 33 And verily We tried Solomon, and set upon his throne a (mere) body. Then did he repent. 34 Saying: "O Lord, forgive me, and give me such a dominion as none will merit after me. You are the great bestower." 35 Then We subjected to him the wind: it ran gently by his command withersoever he directed. 36 and also the jinn, every kind of builder and diver 37 and others that were bound with chains. 38 “This is Our bestowal. So give or withhold as you wish without account.” 39 In Our eyes he certainly has a high position and the best place to return. 40
