Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 By the receding night 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 A warning for people -- 36 to whoever of you desires to go forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 about the sinners. 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
