Therefore continue to give warning, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: "(Muhammad SAW is) a poet! We await for him some calamity by time! 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring an announcement like it if they are truthful. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 [How could they?] Are thy Sustainer's treasures with them? Or are they in charge [of destiny]? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or that the Ghaib (unseen) is with them, and they write it down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Is theirs a god beside Allah? Hallowed be Allah from that which they associate! 43 (So obstinate are they that) even if they were to see some fragments of the sky falling down they would still say: “It is only a mass of cloud.” 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
