AND, INDEED, We have created man out of sounding clay, out of dark-slime transmuted 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 So the angels made obeisance, all of them together, 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 Said He: "Go forth, then, from this [angelic state]: for, behold, thou art [henceforth] accursed, 34 Condemned till the day of Doom!" 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 He said: Then lo! thou art of those reprieved 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 Over My true servants you will be able to exercise no power, your power will be confined to the erring ones, those who choose to follow you. 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
