Said the Council of the unbelievers of his people, who cried lies to the encounter of the world to come, and to whom We had given ease in the present' life, 'This is naught but a mortal like yourselves, who eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 Does he promise you that when you die and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth again? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, far-fetched indeed is what you are promised! 36 There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 The messenger said, "My Lord, help me, for they have rejected me." 39 God said, "Before long they will be filled with regret." 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 AND AFTER them We gave rise to new generations: 42 No community can anticipate their term, nor can they lay behind. 43 Then We sent Our apostles one after the other. Every time an apostle came to a people they denied him. So We made one follow the other (to its doom), and turned them into bygone tales. Cursed be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 They said, "Should we believe in two mere mortals who are like ourselves and whose people are our slaves?" 47 So they accused them of falsehood, and they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
