The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
